“Jake (who actually draws) asked me to write a short testimonial about my experience of being one of his students. When I was thinking about what to write to try to encapsulate this experience, out of the blue, I remembered this quote by Leonardo da Vinci: "There are three classes of people: those who see, those who see when they are shown, those who do not see." I started my lessons with Jake being the last of the people. I wasn't able to see many things. I couldn't see my own ability, my interest in the art I produced, and how it would be possible to learn something as difficult as drawing. Over time and being coached by Jake, I began to transform into the second of the people. I began to see that it was possible to learn how to draw, I began to realize my own interests in my art and I also began to appreciate my own abilities. Today I realize that the instructions Jake gave me are more than just for drawing, they are actually tools that enable me to become the first of the people Leonardo mentions, I can also be someone who sees, just like Jake. I believe that's Jake's greatest ability, I mean, he sees. He can see the interests and inclinations of his students and is genuinely interested in them. So much so that he moulds the lessons to the student's tastes, without losing the quality of the technical instruction. In this movement, Jake teaches more than drawing, through his ability to see he teaches others to see. “

“I initially found Jake through Tik Tok and really liked his philosophy when it comes to making art. Shortly after, I reached out and he told me about his 1 on 1 course. Jake’s course was a great experience for me as an artist. I saw immediate and consistent improvement doing the homework. I also found a lot of motivation that I felt I was lacking before.
